Chapter VIII: Minnagrosohi [Everyone Dies]
Q: Minnagoroshi-hen? The "Everyone Dies" chapter?
A: Yep. Probably to foreshadow this chapter will NOT have a happy ending, even if it looks like it will.
Q: Why is it told from "Rika's POV"?
A: Because who else's POV would it be told from? POV switching between chapters has happened before, like with Shion and the 'Eye-Opening Chapter'.
Q: So, Takano did it, the end?
A: Not just her. This is the first time we really get to see what the mysterious adults of Higurashi are up to. But Takano being the main responsible party is true.
Q: This sucks! There's nothing supernatural about the curse? Then what was the point?
A: Everything 'supernatural' has been a coincidence (Except for Hanyuu) because Takano has tried and tried very hard to get people to believe in Oyashiro-sama and his curse. That's Takano's whole MO: get people to think twice about superstition, and if she's the source of their fear, then her goal is complete. She has become Oyashiro-sama, destroyer of worlds.
Q: Why didn't the police rescue Satoko from her uncle earlier if they were WATCHING THE HOUSE?
A: Probably because even if they knew the abuse was going on, without Satoko's 'testimony' to that fact, they wouldn't have been able to hold Satoko's uncle for anything substantial. In this one, the police act quickly the moment Satoko has her change of heart, and Teppei likely won't be a free man anytime soon.
Q: I'm so tired from watching up to now I have no idea what else to ask.
A: Likewise. Anyone with further questions, please comment? XD
